Product Launch – Tanzania 2010
Ultravetis (Tz) Ltd in collaboration with CNFA have managed to introduce to Tanzanian farmers four new crop protection products from our partners, Rotam Crop Science Ltd. as listed below;
- VOLAR MZ – mancozeb 600g/kg + dimethomorph 90g/kg, a systemic and contact fungicide for the control of early and late blight on potatoes, tomatoes, downey mildew in all crops including roses, blue mould on tobacco, heart and root rot in pineapples, fungal leaf spots and damping-off in vegetables.
- ELECTRA 50 EC – lufenuron 50g/lt, an insect growth regulator for the control of leaf feeding lepidopterous, celeopterous and western flower thrips larvae( frankiniella occidentalis), on brassica and ornamental crops.
- IMAXI 700WG – imidacloprid 700g/kg – a systemic insecticide for the control of sucking insects in ornamentals, vegetables and tobacco.
- TANDEM 250SC – tebuconazole 125g/l + carbendazim 125g/l – a broad spectrum systemic foliar fungicide for the control of fungal diseases in wheat, barley, and beans.
The initial launches were done early 2010 in the Southern highlands in Tanzania and another series of events will be taking place in May 2010 in the Northern and Kilimanjaro regions.
During the launches the farmers and key stockists are taken through a detailed presentation about each product and how it control’s specific pests. All aspects of safety on application, availability, pack sizes and costing per acre are mentioned.
Ultravetis (Tz) Ltd and Rotam Crop Sciences Ltd. plan to continually introduce into the crop protection market, products of high quality to assist the Tanzanian farmer achieve his goal of high production at minimal costs.
